Mother, Baby and Child Show debuts today at ADNEC

Following its huge success and popularity in Dubai, the Mother, Baby and Child Show debuts in the UAE’s Capital City today (Thursday, May 24, 2007), showcasing essential products for both parents and children at the new Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from May 24 – 26, 2007.

The three day consumer-focused show will feature more than 200 exhibitors from the education, healthcare, banking, hospitality, and media industries, targeting expecting mothers, and parents of children from ages zero to six. On display will be nutritional foods for mothers and babies; toys; hygiene products; clothes for children and mothers; fashion and accessories; movies and music; pushchairs and prams and more.

Expert information regarding pregnancy and parenting will also be available, in addition to special entertainment activities and games suitable for children of all ages.

Simon Horgan, Chief Executive Officer, ADNEC, said,

“Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre was built to provide space for existing events to grow, new events to launch and for shows which have been established in other destinations, such as the Mother, Baby and Child Show, to come to the UAE Capital. The show also highlights the growing importance the public exhibitions will play in the exhibition calendar of ADNEC.”

The Dubai edition of the Show which was held in December 2006, attracted over 30,000 visitors, One of the major attractions of the Show in Dubai was Barney the dinosaur, who will make a repeat appearance in Abu Dhabi; he will also be joined by the Power Rangers.

The Mother, Baby and Child Show is the 12th major exhibition to take place at ADNEC which was opened in February 2007 by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The multi-purpose venue is the most modern exhibition facility in the world and boasts 28,000 square metres of exhibition floor space over seven interconnected halls, two luxurious conference rooms, 16 meeting rooms and a 2,000sqm food court.

Construction work has recently commenced on Phase 2 of ADNEC, which will see the venue double in size to become the Middle East’s largest purpose-built exhibition centre
