H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan inaugurates Al Ain Convention Centre’s Phase 1 development

The inauguration of Phase 1 boosts the available event space at the venue in Al Ain to more than 20,000sqm (gross), including the brand new 6,000sqm Al Khabisi Hall 2, the 6,600sqm Al Khabisi Hall 1 (that has previously existed onsite), and an 8,125sqm outdoor event area.

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the opening of the new phase and toured the expanded venue accompanied by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Sheikh Hazza Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of Dewan of Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi, H.E. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company), and senior officials from Al Ain city.

Noting ADNEC’s successful efforts to develop the venue to a world class standard, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon highlighted the significant impact the new facilities at the Al Ain Convention Centre would have in promoting the city of Al Ain as well as the wider eastern region of Abu Dhabi.

ADNEC officials emphasised the company’s intention to develop Al Ain Convention Centre into a landmark project that would draw an expanded range of events to Al Ain including corporate events and concerts, besides the current portfolio of exhibitions and conferences. This would enable event organisers to tap further into the commercial potential of Al Ain city, they said.

The brand new Al Khabisi Hall 2 at Al Ain Convention Centre has has been built in a unique architectural style that is in harmony with the city’s existing architecture. It has new preparation and service kitchens and pre-function areas. Externally, the development includes a shaded colonnade, dancing areas, extensive landscaping with water features, and 256 car parking spaces.
