Energy Experts Converge on ADNEC for Region’s First International Conference on Applied Energy

The International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE), an annual event previously held in Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, South Africa and Taiwan, kicked off  its debut edition in the Middle East at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Converging energy experts from around the world, the seventh edition (ICAE 2015) runs until 31 March under the theme ‘Clean, Efficient and Affordable Energy for a Sustainable Future’. The event is organised by Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in conjunction with Mälardalen University of Sweden, Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, Applied Energy Innovation Institute (AEII), Elsevier, and the Collaborative Innovation Centre of Electric Vehicles in Beijing. 

A total of 672 scientific papers on applied energy, 25 of which are from students and faculty of Masdar Institute, are participating in the seventh edition of the ICAE 2015. The conference include plenary sessions, keynote lectures, and parallel specialised sessions, including poster sessions on topics related to applied energy.

Speaking ahead of the event, Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), said: “ADNEC is pleased to welcome international professionals in the energy industry - a key contributor to ADNEC’s diversified event portfolio.
