ADNEC set to host major events this December

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is set to host more than seven events, across key sectors at both the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and Al Ain Convention Centre this coming December highlighting their ongoing efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi's position as the region’s capital for business tourism, with the ability to attract and host leading international exhibitions and conferences.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of The Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), the tenth edition of SIAL Middle East (SIAL ME), the exclusive regional food, beverage and hospitality trade event, opened today and will run to December 11 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC). The event is expected to draw the participation of over 1,143 exhibitors, more than 31 country pavilions and over 21,500 industry experts from more than 50 countries.

The Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition will also be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will run alongside SIAL ME from today until December 11.  The event, which is one of the most significant events for date trade, will highlight the economic importance of dates, the UAE’s largest produce, which is also an integral part of its culture and heritage.

ADAFSA will also host and sponsor the Second Global Meeting of the FAO/WHO International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN), from today until December 11 in parallel to the 10th anniversary of SIAL ME. The meeting will provide an opportunity for INFOSAN members to discuss progress, challenges and opportunities to strengthen the network and protect the global food supply as they work towards strengthening the global community of practice and lowering the global burden of foodborne diseases.

Agriscape is also underway at ADNEC for two days, from December 9 to 10 and is a unique event, part exhibition, part keynote conference, part workshops, part networking, and gathering agri-land buyers looking for available agricultural land and food factories on the international scene. For the first time, sellers and buyers of farmland and agricultural assets gather under one roof to discuss and compare the latest on offer.

The 2019 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques is underway at ADNEC until December 10, the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results and will take place jointly with the IEEE International School of Imaging at ADNEC.

The eighth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP) will take place at ADNEC from 16-20 December 2019. A number of pre-conference events will be held on 14-15 December. COSP is the main policy-making body for the UN Convention and supports States parties and signatories in their implementation of the Convention, and gives policy guidance to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to develop and implement anti-corruption activities.

Furthermore, Al Ain Convention Centre will host key events in December including AJWEX – The Al Ain Jewellery & Watches Exhibition from December 13-17. Organised by Al Bader Exhibition Organisers, AJWEX is known for its annual exhibit of gorgeous jewellery, precious stones, branded watches with well-known designers, and jewellery manufacturers.
