Publication Date: 10 Jun 2018

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) launched the ‘ADNEC Giving’ campaign in line with its celebration of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th day of Ramadan each year to commemorate the life of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father. The campaign included the “Fast Breaking” initiative as well as the volunteering initiative by ADNEC employees at Ramadan tents that took place at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The ‘ADNEC Giving’ campaign seeks to exemplify Sheikh Zayed’s noble values and principles in nation-building such as tolerance, goodness, co-existence, justice and giving, and humanitarian acts. As part of its commitment to the ‘Year of Zayed’ initiative, ADNEC targets to share more than 4,000 Iftar meals to workers in the Musaffah area in Abu Dhabi and the industrial zone in Al Ain throughout Ramadan season, and engage 70 volunteers to actively take part in the activities.

ADNEC has also committed to provide employee volunteers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to assist at Ramadan tents during Iftar gatherings, giving them the opportunity to extend their support to become part of a charitable and humanitarian act. ADNEC employees are giving one day each week to participate in organizing and coordinating Iftar gatherings in Ramadan tents at the mosque throughout Ramadan from 5 pm to Maghreb prayer time. To date, more than 2,500 meals have been provided under the supervision of ADNEC’s CSR Team.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC said: “We look upon the wise words of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who once said: ‘The real wealth is the sincere hard work that benefits human and society, that work is immortal, it is what makes human and the country value.’ The launch of the ‘ADNEC Giving’ campaign is part of a series of philanthropic and charitable initiatives inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s approach, which continues today under the wise leadership of His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to enhance the leadership of our nation in serving humanity.”

Al Dhaheri said: “Giving is an essential part of ADNEC's core values and is a deeply-rooted culture among our employees. We have been leading many charitable initiatives and volunteering work throughout the year, but most especially during this auspicious month of Ramadan. Our specific efforts this time are part of our oneness with the whole UAE’s celebration of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which is an important national occasion and carries a special significance as we remember Sheikh Zayed on his centennial anniversary, being the founding father and builder of the country’s modern development.”
