For eight weeks this summer the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) will become a magnet for families when the venue is transformed to create ‘Summer in Abu Dhabi', the UAE capital's largest and most prestigious family festival taking place from June 26^th- August 18^th 2008.

Organised jointly by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and ADNEC and supported by Etisalat, Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (ADACH) and Capital Centre, Summer in Abu Dhabi will be spread over 13,000sqm of air-conditioned indoor space.  The amazing event will consist of seven incredible themed entertainment islands, which are Adventure Island, Action Island, Island of Creativity, Fun Island, Imagination Island, Culture Island and Discovery Island, and will bring hundreds of thousands of visitors together with the very best in family entertainment.

"This is a new and exciting concept for the UAE capital" said His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADTA and ADNEC, "Summer in Abu Dhabi has been carefully considered to fulfill an important element in Abu Dhabi's wider tourism strategy."

Education is a key element of the show and major interactive "edutainment" attractions will include the thrilling ‘Science of ...Spying', which has just completed its remarkable debut at the London Science Museum; and the award winning ‘Robot Zoo', which has recently been delighting and amazing visitors on its tour of North America and Asia.

A packed programme of live performances throughout the day will include International Children's Theatre Productions, Circus Workshops & Mini Shows, Freestyle BMXsters, UV Puppet Theatre and appearances by well known Children's Characters.  

‘Summer in Abu Dhabi' will also feature Arts & Craft Workshops, Secret Story Gardens, a Mini Cinema, Optical Illusions, Climbing Walls, Lazer Mazes, Remote ‘CamCar' Racing and a variety of lively Fun Fair Rides & Games.

His Excellency Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, Managing Director of ADNEC added:

Summer in Abu Dhabi runs at ADNEC from June 26^th - August 18^th.  The show is open 12pm - 9pm daily.  Tickets are priced at AED30 for an adult and AED20 for a child under 16.
