The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre pavilion showcasing the 2017 editions of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) and Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) has drawn high interest from key decision makers and delegates attending Euronaval 2016, the leading maritime defence show currently underway in Paris, France.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, said: “We are excited with the overwhelming response the IDEX and NAVDEX pavilion has received from major exhibitors and specialised companies participating in Euronaval 2016. The high footfall demonstrates the growing importance of both events as definitive platforms to showcase cutting-edge defence technologies and innovations.”

Al Dhaheri added: “Our participation in Euronaval 2016 aims to highlight the key opportunities created by NAVDEX for naval military organisations that are mandated to protect the integrity of territorial waters and ensure the safety of international shipping lanes amid the growing challenges facing maritime security.”

NAVDEX will host a dedicated area within the marine facility connected to Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to accommodate the military ships participating in the event, while huge warships are to be moored at Port Zayed in Abu Dhabi. NAVDEX will also include live performances by many small and medium-sized vessels participating in the event.

For his part, Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of IDEX and NAVDEX said: "Our participation in  Euronaval 2016 is in line with our strategy to promote IDEX and NAVDEX to leading global companies across land, sea and air sectors of the defence and invite them to participate in the upcoming mega events.”

He added: “Our expansive facilities within Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre allow us to host indoor, outdoor and marine events simultaneously. We attribute the continued success of IDEX and NAVDEX to this award-winning facility and its ability to meet the dynamic requirements of major naval and maritime defence exhibitors.”

Al Mansouri also lauded the high professionalism demonstrated by the IDEX and NAVDEX teams staffed by several talented Emiratis who make diligent efforts to ensure the continued success of the most strategically important tri-service defence exhibition in the world.

IDEX 2015 attracted more than 1,200 local and international defence manufacturers and contractors and drew over 101,000 visitors from across the world. The event also facilitated business deals worth AED18.3 billion.

Both IDEX and NAVDEX will spread across ADNEC's maximum capacity of 133,000 square metres of internal and external exhibition space, along with the marina facility that spans 14,000 square metres.
