First-ever Working Buildings Middle East exhibition opens at ADNEC

Publication Date: 10 Dec 2007

The Working Buildings Middle East show opens at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) - Monday 10 December 2007,as a mixed exhibition, conference, research and networking event on property and building management, and maintenance.  It is the first event of its kind in the UAE to focus on the entire construction hierarchy and will showcase the latest products, services and best-practice examples relating to the complete life-cycle of buildings.

Attendees at the exhibition will receive exclusive access to research into the facilities management and building management systems markets across the region. This research was completed in August 2007 and was carried out by Frost & Sullivan, leaders in research across the built environment. This is the most comprehensive study undertaken in the region for these sectors, and is offered free to all attendees.

Working Buildings is also the first ever event in Abu Dhabi to be organised by CMPi - a major global exhibition organiser and one of ADNEC's Foundation Partners.

ADNEC CEO, Simon Horgan, said, "Abu Dhabi is the perfect destination for this event, as it is home to a large proportion of the construction projects in the Gulf region, including our own AED 8 billion Capital Centre project.  This is a perfect way for CMPi to begin in Abu Dhabi, as it will attract a prestigious audience from the construction industry."

CMPi Managing Director Jane Risby-Rose, said, "CMPi had been considering the Gulf region for some time and has committed to Abu Dhabi for a number of reasons. Firstly because it is the capital of the UAE, and is home to the UAE's financial centre; secondly because of the massive business opportunities this area offers in terms of the emerging market and thirdly because of the innovative design of the centre."

Currently there is AED 3.7 trillion worth of construction projects underway in the Gulf region; with the UAE accounting for around AED 1.1 trillion of this amount.  In Abu Dhabi alone, more than AED 367 billion worth of new real-estate projects are currently underway.
