ADNEC Aims to Achieve 44% Emiratisation by End 2013

Publication Date: 26 May 2013

Salah Al Jaeedi, Chief Financial Officer at ADNEC, said the company currently has a team of 232 employees, 31 per cent of which are women. This includes a total of 93 nationals (49 male and 44 female), which translates into a 47 per cent share for Emirati women in ADNEC’s national workforce. The anticipated four per cent increase in Emirati workforce will bring the number of UAE citizens to 102 by the end of 2013.

Al Jaeedi also stated that 67 per cent of ADNEC’s executive management and 44 per cent of senior management are UAE nationals.

Jaeedi highlighted the company’s efforts in developing comprehensive programs to achieve its Emiratisation objectives and promote national talent in line with its five-year strategy.

Moving forward, ADNEC will also participate in the next phase of the ‘Absher’ initiative, which was launched in 2012 by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, to bolster Emiratisation and create new jobs for skilled Emiratis in the UAE labour market.

Jaeedi also stressed that the goal of the Emiratisation initiative at ADNEC is not only to increase the national workforce but to build on national competencies to drive the company’s core businesses. ADNEC constantly invests in the nation’s human resources and allocates a large percentage of its annual budget for training programs that will allow citizens to gain international standard expertise through cooperation with global event organizers.
